Data: 23.11.2013 12:11:13 |
The project „Eastern Waves: Warszawa Oslo” starts on December 5 with the concert at Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio featuring Maja Ratkje . On the same day the new monographical album „Solitaire” of Arne Nordheim's electronic music will have its premiere. The aim of the project "Eastern Waves: Warszawa-Oslo" is recollection, phonographic documentation and reactivation of bonds between Polish and Norwegian electro-acoustic music, presentation of their individual character and unquestionable significance on the international scale. The project focuses around the achievements of three breakthrough artists, who started their collaboration in the Polish Radio Experimental Studio in the 1960’s and 1970’s: Arne Nordheim, Kåre Kolberg and Eugeniusz Rudnik. Contemporary artists of experimental music from Poland and Norway have been invited to re-interpret the masterpieces created decades ago in Warsaw. Maja Ratkje - the outstanding composer, vocalist and live electronics performer (laureate of the Nordheim Award and the prestigious Prix Ars Electronica 2003, she also recorded for Rune Grammofon and Tzadik) has been asked to prepare paraphrases of Eugeniusz Rudnik’s compositions based on vocal material. These new works will premiere on December 5 at the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio (Modzelewskiego str. 59, Warsaw). On the same night the new album with works of Arne Nordheim - „Solitaire” - will have its premiere. The event will start at 7.p.m. Tickets: PLN 10 The Norwegian partner of „Eastern Waves: Warszawa-Oslo” is NOTAM (http://www.notam02.no) – Norwegian Center For Technology in Music and Arts. The Project is supported by a grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants and co-financed by the Polish funds. |
