| The trio Pole was created in 2011. The band composed of Piotr Zabrodzki, Michał Górczyński and Jan Emil Młynarski debuted with the album Radom published by Kilogram Records. After a couple of years, the trio changed their name to Polonka. The record Poemat konfesyjny (Religious Poem) was published in the autumn of 2018 by Bôłt Records. The instruments used by Polonka include a positive organ, a clavichord (Zabrodzki), a contrabass clarinet (Górczyński) and a percussion and percussion instruments (Młynarski). From the very beginning, the trio’s goal has been to combine rhythms, musical motives and inspirations from places that are both geographically distant and musically close to each other (Africa, Europe, America). On their newest album, the trio are very consistent in pursuing the artistic goal they had chosen for themselves and combine styles and trends of folk music from different continents, while at the same time drawing inspiration from the avant-garde, as well as improvising and contemplating sounds, melodic patterns and rhythms.
